Karyla · WordPress Integration

Write in Karyla. Publish in WordPress. Nothing breaks.

Karyla speaks Gutenberg natively. Blocks, shortcodes, featured images, taxonomies. All preserved through a real round-trip. WordPress stays the source of truth.

The problem

Most AI tools treat WordPress like a print queue.

You write somewhere. Notion, Docs, an AI tool. You paste into WordPress. The Heading block is a paragraph now. Your two-column layout collapsed. The image caption is gone. The shortcode rendered as text.

You spend the next 20 minutes putting Gutenberg back together. Your editor closes the tab and goes back to the WordPress block editor. The AI tool was supposed to save time.

If the round-trip doesn’t work, the integration doesn’t either.

How it works.

04 steps
01

Connect your site

Connect your WordPress site to Karyla. The Karyla plugin is optional. Install it if you want a one-click connect and a few Karyla features inside the WordPress admin.

02

Karyla indexes

Posts, pages, blocks, taxonomies, media, and SEO meta. Pulled into your project.

03

Edit and write

In Karyla. Drafts, optimizations, AI suggestions. All aware of your blocks.

04

Publish in place

Round-trip back to WordPress with every block, shortcode, and field intact.

Under the hood.

Gutenberg-native

Blocks are first-class. Not a paste target.

Karyla parses Gutenberg blocks into a real tree, edits them in place, and serializes back to WordPress’s exact format. Block parsing runs both server-side in WASM and in TypeScript, so the round-trip is fast and consistent.

  • Core blocks: heading, paragraph, list, columns, image, gallery, embed, code, table, and more
  • Custom blocks supported via their registered schema
  • No “lossy paste”. What you publish is what was in the editor.

The fields your site depends on, preserved.

Shortcodes survive editing instead of being stripped or pre-rendered. Yoast SEO meta is read and written natively today. RankMath, AIOSEO, and SEOPress are on the way. Featured images, categories, tags, and custom taxonomies all sync.

  • Shortcodes preserved verbatim during edits
  • Yoast SEO supported today; more SEO plugins coming
  • Featured images, categories, tags, taxonomies. All synced.
